Turn YouTube English subtitles into translated audio for mobile listening

Keep listening during a commute, a walk or chores by turning YouTube subtitles you have permission to process into audio in your chosen language. Dubnivo imports text, translates it and generates speech on the web, without a browser extension.

From a video link to separate audio

Automatic retrieval needs accessible existing English subtitles. If it fails, manually import your own TXT, SRT or VTT. Generating your own content requires an account and usable entitlements.

  1. Open a YouTube link on the homepage, confirm your processing rights and retrieve English subtitles, or open the text-import page.
  2. Check the original text and choose a source language, audio output language, quality and available voice.
  3. Review the character reservation and generation attempt, then submit and wait for completion.
  4. Listen to the translated text, compare the source and download the audio from the player.

Listen on mobile without an extension

Open Dubnivo in a mobile browser to play samples or generate audio with your account. Browsers that support adding a site to the home screen can open it as a PWA; installation steps depend on the operating system.

Lock-screen and background playback depend on the device and browser. Continuous playback is not guaranteed in every iPhone, Android or PWA state. Download audio for a local player; before downloading, remain signed in and keep within the seven-day retention period.

What works well as listening material

Explanations, interviews and text-based lessons that do not rely on visuals are better suited to audio. Charts, code demonstrations and physical movements still require the original video; a transcript reading does not recreate missing visual information.

Dubnivo generates separate synthetic audio, rather than adding dubbing to the original video, replacing its track or matching lips. AI translation can misread terminology and numbers, so compare it with the source.

When subtitles are unavailable

Automatic retrieval only handles existing English subtitles. It does not enable transcription of videos without subtitles or retrieval in arbitrary languages. Restricted content and videos without usable English subtitles may not work automatically.

If you have permission to use the text, upload or paste TXT, SRT or VTT and select its actual source language. Split long material to fit the processing limits shown on the generation page.

Quotas, retention and privacy

New synthesis charges actual output characters to the selected quality pool and uses one generation attempt. Failure returns reserved characters, not the attempt. Replaying existing audio is free of character charges; changing its language or voice creates a new generation.

Generated content is account-private and stays online for seven days, with downloads available while retained. Notes and progress stay in the current browser. The guide and privacy policy explain the workflow, providers and data handling.

Frequently asked questions

Does this dub a YouTube video or replace its original track?

No. It generates separate audio from subtitles you have permission to use, with source-text comparison. The original YouTube video and audio track remain unchanged.

Does listening again consume more characters?

Replaying completed audio that is still accessible uses no characters. Retranslation or a different language or voice is a new generation.

Do I need a plugin or a public audio-sharing link?

No browser extension is needed. Your generated content requires account permissions; a random task link does not authorize another person to access it.
